FCCLA: The Ultimate Leadership Experience
FCCLA stands for Family, Career, and Community Leaders of America.
FCCLA is an outstanding opportunity for students at Eastview High School. This extracurricular looks absolutely amazing on any college application because it involves volunteering and participating in activities that better your community. Through FCCLA, you learn leadership skills that will help you succeed in your pursuits for the future.
Our 2017 Eastview Chapter currently houses 36 members, making it one of the largest chapters in our Region in Minnesota. These are very enthusiastic members that make it a wonderful group.
Some reasons you should join FCCLA include:
FCCLA is a branch of the Family and Consumer Sciences (FACS) program. FACS is a collection of skills that help you in life. These skills you learn are helpful when dealing with relationships, human development, personal and family finance, housing and interior design, food science, nutrition, wellness, textiles, and consumer issues. The FACS world is very important to learn about and be a part of.
Our school's FCCLA Chapter participates in FCCLA at the Table, it is our way of promoting the FACS program. We all get together during FCCLA Week in February and eat together. It encourages building/strengthening relationships with one another and eating healthy.
This year, our Minnesota FCCLA state theme is "Dare to Explore."
